Discreet Signals has released Sculpture, a spectral multi-effects plugin for macOS and Windows, and Bedroom Producers Blog readers can get it for half price using the exclusive coupon code BPB50.
We recently featured the 8TT plugin from Discreet Signals, and it was an instant hit among BPB readers (and for good reason). Now the developer is back with another innovative, clever, and user-friendly tool.
Sculpture is not your typical dynamics or modulation plugin. Instead, it lets you sculpt threshold, attack, release, gate depth, delay, and resonance directly on a frequency curve.
At its core, Sculpture offers five spectral processors you can chain in any order: downward compressor, upward compressor, gate, delay, and resonator.
Each processor works across the frequency spectrum, and you can define the behavior for each frequency bin individually. If you’ve ever wanted to shape reverb feedback on just the highs, or gate only the low mids, this is the tool.
The UI is clean, and it felt intuitive to me from the first step. You can drag nodes on the frequency canvas to interact with the sound and, at the same time, get visual feedback.
One very clever feature is the “Smoothness” control, which lets you blend between sharp, independent frequency bins and more grouped, multiband-like behavior. This allows Sculpture to move seamlessly from surgical correction to more creative and musical sound design.
From a utility perspective, the downward mode alone is worth the price of admission. It acts like a multiband spectral suppressor that tames harsh resonances in a mix or individual track with minimal effort.
The upward mode can enhance detail and presence, and both modes can be driven by sidechain input for creative mixing applications. For example, you can use it for ducking the midrange of a pad every time a lead synth hits.
But what really sets Sculpture apart is its potential as a sound design tool. You can stretch and warp sounds with the spectral delay, then add shimmer with the resonator, or create rhythmical effects by gating frequency regions independently.
You can even push FFT resolution up to 65,536 bands for extreme precision (or down to 128 for minimal latency and transient clarity).
Whether you’re looking for a utility to help you fix a tricky mix or an inspirational sound design weapon for crafting ambient soundscapes, Sculpture offers a unique canvas for exploration. And thanks to Discreet Signals’ exclusive BPB promo, you can grab it for $47.50 instead of the regular $95.
Sculpture is available in VST3 and AU plugin formats for Windows and macOS. Use the coupon code BPB50 at checkout to get 50% off.
