Diddy’s federal case blew up after Judge Subramanian lashed out at both legal teams over a leaked article containing sealed details.
The legal teams prosecuting Diddy and defending the mogul were put in the hot seat on Tuesday (June 17) after a federal judge erupted over a leaked article that appeared to reference sealed proceedings in his ongoing racketeering and sex trafficking case.
Judge Jesse M. Subramanian opened Day 25 of the trial by confronting both the prosecution and defense about an online report that included confidential details from a hearing held under seal.
Judge Subramanian, visibly angry, demanded answers and accountability, making it clear someone in the courtroom had broken the court’s strict gag order as he addressed sides.
The judge accused individuals present during Friday’s (June 14) sealed session of violating his direct orders.
He reminded the courtroom that a gag order had been placed on all parties, including the government, the defense, and anyone tied to the case, and warned that civil or criminal contempt charges could follow.
Judge Subramanian then turned his attention to Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey and lead defense attorney Marc Agnifilo, placing full responsibility on their shoulders.
The case against Diddy includes five felony charges: one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution. He has denied all allegations.
