Sharay “The Punisher” Hayes expressed regret for his role in Diddy’s alleged abuse of Cassie Ventura during a televised apology on CNN.
Sharay “The Punisher” Hayes, a former escort who testified in Sean Diddy Combs’ federal sex trafficking case, publicly apologized to Cassie Ventura during a CNN interview, expressing regret for his involvement in encounters she later described as abusive.
“I would apologize because I had no idea, no indication of what she was going through,” Hayes said during the televised segment. “Obviously, my involvement kind of furthered her suffering. Me knowing that as a man, being raised by a single mom and a grandma, just the thought of partaking in a scenario where a woman is possibly being abused is tough to hear.”
He added, “I would just apologize and tell her that I was really remorseful and regret if I contributed to a bad experience for her.”
Diddy Hired “The Punisher” For Multiple “Freak-Offs” With Cassie Ventura
Hayes, who worked as a dancer and escort, testified earlier this month that he was hired by Diddy for eight to 12 so-called “freak offs” with Ventura over roughly two and a half years. He said he often didn’t realize who the couple was until after the fact.
According to Hayes, he was told to meet Ventura in hotel rooms and instructed, “I was specifically told to not acknowledge her husband.”
He also claimed Diddy would sometimes observe the encounters while wearing a veil or hijab, which made the environment uncomfortable for him as a performer.
“I didn’t see any violence or aggression or anything that would constitute what his accusations are,” Hayes said during another recent interview.
He added, “I just look at as accusations now based on my interaction… I just didn’t see anything that aligned with what the charges are, but I am also naive to the interpretation of the law.”
Hayes said he hasn’t had any contact with either Diddy or Ventura since 2015.
Ventura has testified that she was coerced into participating in the “freak offs” and subjected to manipulation, blackmail and psychological abuse by Diddy.
