Deonte Nash, a former stylist for Diddy who took the stand during the Bad Boy Records founder’s federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, told a judge on Wednesday (July 2) that she felt “compelled to be unequivocal about the danger [Diddy] poses to the public.”
As seen below, Nash’s letter begins with an expression of “grave concern” over the chance of Diddy being released from custody following Wednesday’s verdict. As previously reported, Diddy was found not guilty of trafficking and racketeering, but guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.
“While I appreciate the fairness you have shown throughout this proceeding, I feel compelled to be unequivocal about the danger [Diddy] poses to the public and to the individuals who have risked everything by coming forward,” Nash’s letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, dated July 2, reads. “Mr. Combs has a long, well-documented history of violent, coercive, and retaliatory behavior. Over the years, he has repeatedly escaped meaningful accountability, and each time this has only reinforced his sense of impunity.”
Also writing in opposition of Diddy’s release was Douglas H. Wigdor, a lawyer for Cassie. Earlier on Wednesday, Wigdor released a statement arguing that Diddy’s case “proved that change is long overdue.”
With regards to Diddy’s potential release, Wigdor said in a letter filed Wednesday afternoon, as seen below and reviewed by Complex, that Diddy “is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case.”
