Bow Wow Owns Up to ‘Fake Flexing’ With Viral Private Jet …

Bow Wow has finally admitted it — he was “fake flexing” when he posted a picture of flying on a private jet when he was really on a commercial plane in 2017.

Bow Wow owned up to his viral fail on an episode of Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe when he explained what he doesn’t like about being famous (around the two-hour mark). “Not being able to live freely,” he said when asked. “Everybody judges you knowing they’re doing the same thing — it just ain’t televised.”

Immediately after that, Bow Wow and Sharpe got into the topic of Bow Wow’s viral moment involving a private jet that he wasn’t actually on. “I got caught, simple as that,” explained Bow Wow. “I was fake flexing. Didn’t think nothing of it.”

Bow Wow then revealed his motive for doing it — he didn’t want people to be aware of how he was actually traveling because he’s famous (which, admittedly, is believable). “I saw the picture. I’m about to post this because I don’t want people to know how I’m moving. And I posted it to derail people,” Bow Wow said.

The rapper explained that after he posted it, he went to sleep because he didn’t think what he did was crazy. But then after he got caught, he wasn’t angry — he actually understood and owned up to his mistake. “You know how many rappers lie? Y’all caught me this one time. Never again. It’s over,” joked Bow Wow.

“I’m normal and I make mistakes and I can own up to it,” he continued. “You know how many jets we’ve been on since then?”

It’s great that Bow Wow can reflect on that epic moment from a place of peace in 2025, because when it happened…boy, was it rough. Bow Wow was called out back in 2017 after posting a picture suggesting he was on a private jet, but that picture looked suspiciously close to a press photo from the official website of the FLL VIP Trans company located in Florida.

A person sitting close to the rapper on the commercial flight posted a photo debunking the rapper’s claim.

We wish this was the only instance of Bow Wow’s fraudulent flexing, but it’s not.

That same year, he dropped a questionable video claiming that he was getting chased by fans who many believed were paid to chase after him.

Back in 2021, Maino opened up about a funny encounter he had with Bow Wow after a night of partying in a New York City club — and if this doesn’t sound like peak fake flexing, we don’t know what to tell you.

“He like, ‘Yo, my car is around the corner,” Maino recalled on his Kitchen Talk podcast. “We get around the corner and my car is parked right where I thought his driver was at — where he said his driver was at. So I seen a black truck. He’s like ‘My car’s right there.’ I’m like, ‘Cool.’ We standing there talking… I guess, like, maybe somebody was waiting for me to leave first or we just vibing. And then he’s like, ‘Yo, I’m out.’ And when he went to leave, I’m like, ‘Oh, he jumping in the truck.’ He went into the street and flagged down a taxi cab… I thought this was your driver?”
