With home recording setups getting more and more pro these days, a studio-grade acoustic guitar sound is within reach.Let’s discuss how to get you there. Before Setting up Anything …1. Article Content Before the days of large recording consoles, mixers comprised of modular amplifiers (such as the groundbreaking 610 by Bill Putnam Sr. and Universal Audio, which included a preamp, equalizer, three program outputs and an echo send) were used to send and process individual channels of audio. Decent Sampler is a treasure trove of sometimes weird and usually wonderful free libraries (there are paid libraries, too, but plenty of freebies to keep you busy). If you haven’t tried Decent Sampler yet, check it out; it’s free to download. Though, once again, I must thank Zhengxi Zhang for refining my demos of “Intro,” “Preybirds (Watcher Song),” “Butcheress,” and “Wildfire (Gone, Gone, Gone) / Death Song” beyond what I could do in the refines of my dorm + the time restraints I have being a student (you can blame Econ 101 and other math classes for having this EP come out a year later than I…

If your Roland V-Drums electronic kit is occasionally triggering open hi-hat sounds when you intended to play closed hi-hat notes, you’re experiencing a common issue that can be easily fixed with a simple adjustment. I had this exact issue with my VAD-507 kit (which uses the TD-27 module). Playing on the kit through my headphones was fine, but when I looked at the recorded MIDI notes after playing, about 50% of my closed hi-hat notes were appearing as open. It was extremely frustrating to have to manually move the erroneous mistriggers over to the right hi-hat note. Solution #1: Check…
