Audiomodern has announced the launch of a re-imagined version of its Opacity premium cinematic guitar instrument designed for modern composers and sound designers.
A new chapter to Audiomodern’s acclaimed guitar content. Originally a standout Kontakt release, this newly reimagined Soundbox edition offers even more flexibility and ease of use.
Crafted by boutique sound design house Justin Hodges and Terre Grande, Opacity delivers a deeply expressive set of six-string performances ideal for Film and TV scores, Game soundtracks, Ambient and cinematic production, Trailers, commercials, and beyond.
Opacity features

- 4 performance categories per kit: Chords, Phrases, Sequences, and Textures.
- 12 variations per category, all key-labeled and tempo-synced.
Opacity is available now at an introductory price of €29 EUR for a limited time (regular €39 EUR).
Audiomodern has also released a significant update to its flagship sample engine. Version 1.1.0 of Soundbox comes with various new features and improvements, including integration of ZTX time-stretching algorithms from Zynaptiq, enabling high-quality tempo sync for audio files and loops.
Other changes include:
- Enhanced disk streaming & caching: Configurable via the settings panel.
- Sample compaction improvements: Optimized sample handling to prevent iOS errors when loading large presets.
- Various minor bug fixes & performance enhancements.
- UI refinements: Optimizations for a smoother and more responsive user interface.
Soundbox is free to download for Windows, Mac and iOS (VST/VST3, AU, AAX and AUv3).
