Alex Warren embodies the 21st century American dream. He went from normal Carlsbad, California, kid to online creator to pop megastar, all while keeping his good humored personality intact. But his ascension is based on far more than charisma and clout alone. Warren is talented.
He has a rich, easygoing voice and poetic songwriting chops that lend his soaring, inspirational folk pop a deeply personal edge. That combination has earned him a passionate fanbase whose support borders on devotional. On YouTube, his Massive hits like “Carry You Home,” “Before You Leave Me, and “Ordinary” rack up tens of millions of views, and each is flooded with comments from fans thanking him for changing their lives, getting them through hard times, and soundtracking the best days of their lives. The connections are real.
For some artists, that level of fan intensity might feel like a burden, but Warren shoulders it all with a chill, Southern Californian charm. He acknowledges his responsibility to fans who find meaning in his music, but stays in motion, delivering more moving songs to give people the lift they need in their day to day lives.
To that end, Warren is dropping You’ll Be Alright, Kid, his debut album on July 18. On his website, pre-orders for the CD, cassette, and certain vinyl releases of that album are already sold out. In support of You’ll Be Alright, Kid, Warren is hitting the road this summer for domestic and international shows throughout the summer and early fall. And while those shows are sure to be epic, Warren has something special planned with Verizon Fios Home Internet and its Concerts in the City Series. On September 8, he’ll play a small show at an intimate venue in New York. But you can’t buy tickets. The only way to attend this special Alex Warren show is to enter your info for a chance to get FREE tickets at the Verizon Fios Home Internet Concert in the City Series website here.
In anticipation of that Verizon Fios Home Internet show in NYC, Warren caught up with Complex to tell us how much he enjoys playing cozy shows.
“It’s the best thing to be able to play for small crowds and see their faces and be unplugged,” he says. “I get to see everyone crying, laughing, et cetera. I prefer these types of settings.”

Warren also hinted that he may play some new tunes from You’ll Be Alright, Kid.
“My album comes out July 18th, so I’m planning on definitely playing some of those new songs plus everyone’s favorites!”
If seeing Alex Warren perform in New York is a can’t miss for you, and it should be, enter your info here at the Verizon Fios Home Internet Concerts in the City website for a chance to get a free ticket and a plus-one.
