Air Music Tech is giving away Amp Sim, a compact guitar and bass amp simulation plugin, completely free when you sign up for their newsletter. The offer is valid until December 31st, so you have a couple of months to grab it while it lasts.
Please note that you’ll need to provide your first name, last name, and email address to receive the download link via email.
That said, based on past Air Music Tech giveaways, some BPB readers have reported not receiving the email right away—or at all. If that happens, it’s best to reach out to Air Music Tech’s support team; they’re usually quick to resolve the issue.
Now, on to the plugin.
Amp Sim isn’t a super complex amp suite with endless options like AmpliTube 5 (which you can still get for $29.99 and add 47 free IK Multimedia products on top).
Instead, it’s a streamlined and quick-to-use guitar amp plugin that covers the essentials. You get 11 amp and cabinet models, including classic British-style tones, two bass cabinets, and a “Radio” setting that gives your guitar a lo-fi sound, which I really like for intros or breakdowns.
It’s worth noting that there’s also a DI mode if you prefer to run your own cabinet impulses.
The tone-shaping tools include a four-band EQ, adjustable drive, soft clipping, top boost, and bias controls. You can also set the plugin to mono or stereo, tweak the output, and explore plenty of included presets ranging from clean to crunchy leads.
It’s not really designed for high-gain metal tones like many of the amp sims out there, and I like that. This one’s more suited for rock, pop, or blues, and it delivers surprisingly solid sounds.
I personally like the interface. It’s clean and straightforward, and again, I think that’s quite refreshing compared to the flagship amp sims.

A nice touch is that the GUI color scheme changes depending on the selected amp model, which makes it easier to remember your favorite tones visually. It’s a small detail, but I think it gives the whole setup some extra personality.
Overall, I think it’s ideal for quick jam sessions, sketching out ideas, or even serious tracking if one of the models hits the sweet spot for your tone.
Sometimes you don’t want to open a massive amp suite with hundreds of options. You just want to plug in, dial in a tone, and play. This one does exactly that.
Amp Sim is available for macOS and Windows in AU, VST, VST3, and AAX formats. The free offer runs until December 31st, 2025, and you can grab it by signing up for Air Music Tech’s newsletter.
