Rekkerd Sounds has made several sound packs available as pay-what-you-like downloads, which means you can grab them for free by entering zero as the price.
The packs were originally released around ten years ago, but they are still worth checking out if you use any of the featured synths. There are four soundsets available, covering Native Instruments Massive, Xfer Records Serum, Reveal Sound Spire, and LennarDigital Sylenth1.
I have always been a big fan of Rekkerd. It was one of the websites that inspired me to launch Bedroom Producers Blog fifteen years ago, along with KVR Audio.
Back then, those were two of the sites I visited all the time, and it is nice to see Rekkerd still alive and kicking.
At this point, I think our websites are basically dinosaurs of the music production news category, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The free Rekkerd Sounds selection includes Massive Electro by Samuel Kovanko, which has 70 presets for Native Instruments Massive and focuses on electro-house and complextro sounds.
Samuel Kovanko also created Spire Spectrum, a 70-preset soundset for Reveal Sound Spire aimed at trance, progressive, big room, and related electronic styles.
Serum Spectrum is the largest pack in the lineup, with 110 presets for Xfer Records Serum. It covers electro-house, complextro, trance, progressive, big room, drum and bass, dubstep, trap, and more.
The fourth pack is Sylenth Chillwaves by Adam Pietruszko, featuring 64 presets for LennarDigital Sylenth1. As the name suggests, this one is aimed at downtempo, ambient, and chillwave producers.
You can listen to the demo tracks on the Gumroad store before downloading. If you like the sounds, you can also enter a higher price and support Rekkerd with a donation.
The packs are free if you want them to be, but I suggest always considering donating to the developers behind the free content.
