Space Strip has been around for close to a decade, and we’ve seen some massive discounts in that time, albeit not too many recently. Now, you can get Space Strip, AudioThing’s modular multi-effects plugin, at AudioDeluxe for 68% off.
So, if you missed out on previous deals, here’s your chance to grab Space Strip for $19 (usually $59), thanks to AudioDeluxe.
If you’re new to AudioThing, check out some previous releases, like Things Fold, and the free Moon Echo delay plugin.
Space Strip is a modular channel strip featuring six distinct FX modules.
It’s available in AU, VsT2, and AAX formats for macOS (10.7 or newer) and Windows (7/8/10).
The included modules are Contour, Vibe, SlapBack, Ambience, Ensemble, and Stereo.
The plugin’s modular nature means you can drag and drop modules anywhere in the chain (all modules except the Master module).
Although you can create some fairly standout effects with Space Strip, the priority is adding subtle character, space, and depth with minimal fuss.
Contour is a simple two-band EQ.
Vibe is a stereo vibrato effect that sounds lovely on keys, synths, or even guitars, as long as you don’t overdo it.
Slapback is a short echo module, and like Vibe, it works well with a variety of sources when used sparingly (or as a more distinct effect).
The Ambience module simulates a small room reverb, and it’s a nice way to make any sound sit a little prettier in the mix without becoming too washy.
Ensemble is a chorus effect, and like Slapback and Vibe, you can use it to add subtle depth to just about anything, or push it further for a character-altering effect.
Last up, you’ve got Stereo, a stereo widening module.
As you can see, Space Strip focuses on depth, spatial balance, and movement without being too over-the-top.
If you want something more over-the-top, repositioning the modules allows you to lean heavily into a particular result. Alternatively, the Random function throws up some more unusual combinations.
Space Strip comes with factory presets that cover common goals, like analog character, simple reverb, electric vibes, enhanced low end, and more.
After the best part of a decade, I’m not sure Space Thing is a $59 buy anymore, with freebies getting better all the time, but, at a low price, it’s worth checking out.
