Check out this demo to get an idea of what Matra can do:
Matra is a plugin suited for those who like to plug and play and those who like to get into the nitty-gritty tweaking of parameters. The plugin interface is slick and clean, offering a front and back view.
The front panel gives you control over two delay engines. The orange button to the left controls tempo and feedback, while the blue button to the right controls delay spread.
In this case, the delay spread entails more than simple widening and ping-pong effects, but also affects harmonic character, shimmer, and depth.
If you want to control the tone even more, try switching between the different algorithms provided under the “harmonics” label in the middle of the two knobs.
As you can tell, the front panel of Matra has ample room for tweaking, even if the controls are pretty spartan (nice).
This is perfect for those who like to get quick and pleasant results. However, if you need even more control, try opening the back view by clicking the “tweak” label in the bottom right corner.
Adjust timing and feedback with more precise control, filter the signal, dial in proper ping-pong characteristics and variations in density, and top it off with even finer control of the saturation stages.
You can use Matra to create subtle early reflections, ambience, and movement, or huge washes of sound!

The bottom panel of Matra´s interface features some global controls:
- A filter and a tilt EQ.
- Stereo width control and modulation knob that blends between wow and chorus
- Movement control for tempo and subdivisions
The right side of the plugin houses an input and output control for gain staging and a big knob labeled “Matra,” which is the global dry/wet mix control.
Finally, we have a randomizer function and a kill switch if the plugin gets stuck in a feedback loop.
By the way, if you like experimental time-based plugins, be sure to check out Metal Box Lite by Cillic Audio.
