Algoriffix has updated Pitch Perfekt, its free voice-to-MIDI plugin, with a new pitch correction feature in the latest version 1.7 beta.
We previously covered Pitch Perfekt when it launched in 2024, and it was already a handy tool for converting your voice into MIDI in real-time or from audio files.
The new update makes it even more practical by introducing automatic pitch correction to the feature set. However, don’t expect a vocal effect like you’d find in tuning plugins such as Graillon or MAutoPitch.

We don’t typically cover plugin updates in the news section on BPB, but Pitch Perfekt is pretty much the only free voice-to-MIDI plugin that I know, and the new pitch correction feature is a subtle but super important addition.
Pitch detection is notoriously tricky, especially with expressive vocals, and even minor inaccuracies can make the MIDI transcription sound drastically out of tune. With the new pitch correction active, your melodies are more likely to land on the intended notes, especially when working within a selected scale.
If you’ve never used Pitch Perfekt, it basically works as a voice-driven MIDI controller. You can hum or sing a melody into your mic and control virtual instruments in your DAW.
It works both in real-time and with audio files. You can sing into it or just drag and drop a WAV, MP3, or AIFF file, and it’ll handle the MIDI conversion.
It has improved a lot since the last time we covered it, and it’s now a lot more powerful with features like key detection, scale enforcement, harmonisation, and pitch bend support.
I’ve liked its concept from day one, and this update is a huge improvement. Pitch correction now makes it a lot more precise, and if you want to add some MIDI to your projects without using a keyboard, it’s definitely worth checking out.
The beta version currently limits audio to a 50 Hz – 7 kHz range, but the final release will lift this restriction and arrive on the Mac App Store.
Pitch Perfekt is available as a VST3 and AU plugin, as well as a standalone app for Windows and macOS. You’ll need to enable “pass through” in your DAW or the standalone app to hear the processed signal.
