The Lucky Harp delivers the sound of a 26-string diatonic Celtic harp (in the key of C major) and requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt (5.3 and higher).

Harp libraries, in any variation, aren’t something we talk about every day here, but we have covered a few over the last few years.
We’ve had the free HALion instrument, Navia Harp by Sonic Atoms, which sounds fantastic (putting aside any issues with the Steinberg Download Assistant).
Where Navia Harp delivers a more classical sound, perfect for orchestral arrangements, The Lucky Harp focuses on the darker and more intimate sound of the Celtic harp.
The great thing about the Celtic harp is that it has a lot of character; it’s not just a beautiful sound, but it feels far more storied than a pristine classical harp, which is perfect for the storytelling in traditional Celtic and folk music.
The intimate sound also works very well for small combos, such as piano, harp, and vocals.
The Lucky Harp offers six velocity layers, six round robins, and over 900 total samples (36 unique samples per string), so it’s more expressive than you might expect.
Bad Cat Samples opted for a fairly dry sound, and that’s a good approach; you are free to craft the sound as required, and a custom IR is included. Some virtual harp libraries are too dreamy, which is a defining characteristic of the harp, but it’s not the only one.
You can also adjust the Attack/Release settings and apply a slight EQ boost/cut at around 12k.
If there’s a downside, it’s that The Lucky Harp requires the full version of Kontakt. However, if you already have Kontakt, you can’t go wrong for free.
