Chris Brown pleaded not guilty in a London court after being charged in a nightclub bottle assault case involving music producer Abraham Diaw.
Chris Brown appeared in a London courtroom Friday (June 20) and pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm stemming from an alleged bottle attack at a nightclub in February 2023.
The 36-year-old singer and performer arrived at Southwark Crown Court just hours after performing in Cardiff, dressed in a blue suit and oversized sunglasses.
Prosecutors allege Brown assaulted music producer Abraham Diaw at Tape nightclub in London, where Diaw was reportedly struck with a bottle and then “punched and kicked” multiple times.
Brown’s co-defendant, Omololu Akinlolu—known professionally as Hoody Baby—also entered a not-guilty plea to the same charge during the hearing.
In addition to the attempted grievous bodily harm charge, Brown faces two other counts: assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
The court postponed arraignment on those charges until July 11, giving Brown more time before entering a plea.
The judge scheduled the trial to begin on October 26, 2026.
Brown was first arrested on May 15 in Manchester when he arrived in the United Kingdom to kick off the U.K. leg of his Breezy Bowl tour.
Despite the arrest, he went on to perform in the same city just days later, where he addressed the crowd with a tongue-in-cheek remark: “Thank you for coming and supporting me. And thank you to the jail…It was really nice.”
