Karol G is cranking up the tropical heat with her new album Tropicoqueta.
The Colombian singer’s fifth studio album arrived on Friday (June 20) and marks the latest chapter in her journey as one of the biggest superstars in Latin music history.
“While traveling the world with my last album [Mañana Será Bonito], an album that gave me so much, I kept asking myself the same question: What’s the next step? What’s next for me?” the 34-year-old wrote in Spanish on Instagram.
She continued, “I think it wasn’t about looking further out, but deeper within, deeper into myself, into who I really am, into the things I love, into everything that represents me.”
The Medellín-native described Tropicoqueta as a return to her roots, inspired by the music she grew up with and the sounds that first made her fall in love with music.
“This album sounds like a little piece of everyone,” she said, adding that the album’s creation began in August 2023 and was shaped by the love she received from fans across the globe.

“It’s soul, it’s passion, memory, nostalgia, joy, a party … As a great friend said, ‘It’s a love letter to who we were and a manifesto of who we are now.’ This is my best way of saying: I’m from here and I feel infinitely proud!”
Tropicoqueta includes the new fan-favorite single, “Latina Foreva” which samples Don Omar’s iconic hit “Dile,” as well as the summer anthem “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.”
The album follows her successful Netflix documentary Tomorrow Was Beautiful, which reached the top spot in 19 countries, including the U.S., Colombia, Mexico, and Spain.
It also follows her record-breaking Mañana Será Bonito World Tour, which played to stadiums across the United States and Latin America and saw her making her European touring debut. The trek is now the highest-grossing Latin tour by a woman in boxscore history, per Billboard.
“Summer starts with us, just like last year,” Karol concluded.
You can listen to the new album over on Spotify, Apply Music, and other streaming platforms. You can also get a physical version of the album on vinyl via Complex Shop. Head this way to purchase.
