Gooey Visage is a tool for controlling stereo width and panning with drawable curves, an LFO, and a macro control. The plugin is usually priced at $29.99, but you can now get it for free until June 3rd!
Visage has two main panels. On the left side, you can access a macro control, one control for stereo width, and two controls for pan.
Stereo width and pan also have separate mix knobs and a visualizer of width and pan position, respectively.
You can assign macro and LFO control to any of the parameters to create anything from subtle to wild and unpredictable movement. You can also open a mini-map to make the macro behave non-linearly.

The rest of the plugin interface is dedicated to the graph designer. Use your mouse and some additional editing tools to create up to four graphs that can be assigned to your stereo and pan controls.
Visage comes with factory presets and preconfigured curves if you need to develop something quickly.
The plugin looks like editing software from the 1990s and has a slightly clunky feel, but some might appreciate the nostalgia. Not everything needs to be luminous and slick, after all.
Even though the layout is clear, the plugin has deeper functionality that’s not obvious. Tool tips aren’t activated when you hover over the parameter, but only when you change the actual value. We hope the developer will improve this (and other minor issues like the slight GUI lag) in a future update.

I’m usually not much of a preset person, but the included curves and factory presets in Gooey Visage were a nice addition. They managed to infuse the source material with very interesting movement and dimension almost immediately. Auto-panned, stutters with pulsating stereo width controlled further by the “Range” slider was the ticket for me.
I can see myself using this as a wildcard for experimental sound design in bigger effect chains, or to give pads or static textures some more organic character by automating the separate mix controls.
