23MS-ED is a free stereo tool that allows you to process the mid and side channels independently.
The plugin is available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS and Windows, and you can download it directly from the developer’s Gumroad profile after entering a value of €0 or greater.
Apple users will encounter the familiar issue of macOS refusing to open files from unknown developers. Still, you can manually override that by heading to Settings> Privacy & Security.
Otherwise, refer to the install/Terminal steps on the plugin product page.
I’ve had no issues as yet with Sonoma and Logic Pro 11.0.1, but the developer warns that the plugin may not be compatible with all macOS and Logic Pro versions.
23MS-ED allows you to adjust the gain and add pan modulation per channel (mid/side). You can use 23MS-ED to create the perfect balance in your mix, add movement, or craft more distinctive stereo effects.
In the pan modulation section, you can adjust the Depth and Rate, as well as select from various LFO shapes, including Sine, Saw, Triangle, and Square.
You can also sync the modulation rate of one or both channels to your DAW’s BPM, and switch between multiple modes, including Linear and Balanced.
23MS-ED is a free version of 23MS-ED Pro, which is available for payments of €5+.
23DSP has released multiple freebies throughout 2025, the first of which was a collection of four plugins:

The Italian developer followed up with 23Tape (analogue tape emulation) and X/Y-FAT (stereo fattener).
